The car: 1991 Acura Legend Sedan

All stock electrical and stock bose premium system(just want to add some bass)

Amps I've been considering are the MB Quart ONX1.1000D, Audiopipe AP15001D, Hifonics HFI1000D. All $160 or below running 600-750watts @ 2ohm

BUDGET- $150...cheaper is better.

I'm not sure if I want to go ported or sealed. I like the crisp sound of a sealed box, but want the loudness of a ported box. If I could get a sub that sounds loud in a sealed box that would be great. Or a sub that sounds clean in a ported box that would be great too.

I listen about 60% Alternative Rock(Pearl Jam, Chili Peppers, RAGE, Audioslave, KORN, etc) and about 40% RAP(Lil Wayne, The Game, Notorious B.I.G, 36 Mafia, Bone Thugs, DMX, etc)

So basically I'm looking for a sub that sounds clean and loud whether it be ported or sealed for the type of music I listen to.

Here is what I've been interested in so far:

$150 MB Quart PWE 352 15" - heard its good SQ, but not sure if it's loud enough

$80 or $160 for 2- MB Quart RWE 302 12" - not sure if 1 is gonna be loud enough

$140 Alpine Type R 12" - not sure if the SQ is gonna be good enough

they are gonna be as loud as a dc off 300 watts. ur not gonna notice some huge difference in sound or output when comparing reputable companies same size subs same power.

i used a fi ssd 15 then a dc lvl 3 15 and if i did a blind fold test i could not have told u which was which

which one did you like better?

If you plan on going with the Type R, if its the newer model with the rubber ribbed surround, just make sure it goes in a ported box, tuned low at around 30hz. The Type R is still one of my favorite subs. They have great Sound Quality and gets plenty loud. There are other options out there, but don't dismiss the SQ and SPL of this sub. Im not a big fan of the name brand products, but this sub is one of the exceptions.

Seems like you are into more rock than rap, but rap is still a good part of your listening preference. So a ported box might be something you are after if you are still wanting sound. Just because its a ported box, doesnt mean you won't have SQ.

The MB Quart is more of a SQ oriented sub. From what I have read, I dont have any experience with them, the DC subs are pretty good as mentioned. T3 will get louder than alot of the subs mentioned.

lol i said i couldnt tell a difference. if they are similarly priced i would grab the ssd because its rated for 800 and can handle more. the dc lvl 3 can handle 800 but not sure much over that. just depends on ur power and budget.
