No, but you can guarantee the rest of the frequencies will be at a similar SPL levels. 110dBs is a rock concert. If he's gonna drive around playing with 1000 to 8000 hz at 110 or 120 dBs, his hearing won't last long.[/story]

dB at a specific frequency and dBA are very different things.

I bet two ed.KV.2 16s would do that easy. Put them in about 2.2 each ported tuned to about 35 hz. That would be pretty loud.

eD drivers are extremely small box drivers. The recommended size for the old 15A was 2-2.5 cubes ported. I'm sure the Kv.2's are similar.

The A-scale (dBA) accounts for how our ears perceive sound. Our ears are most sensitive to frequencies between 1 kHz and 4 kHz and less sensitive above 4 kHz and below 1 kHz. So, for a 100 Hz tone to be perceived by our ears as equally loud as a 1 kHz tone, the 100 Hz tone would have to be 20 dB louder.
160 dB @ 10 Hz = 80 dBA

100 dB @ 100 Hz = 80 dBA

80 dB @ 1000 Hz = 80 dBA

Therefore, 160 dB @ 10 Hz = 100 dB @ 100 Hz = 80 dB @ 1000 Hz to the human ear.

I failed to recognize the difference between dBs and phons was that great. I thought it was a tops of ~20dBs, full spectrum.
