I think I heard explorers peak around 48-50...but I hit a 151.1 with my old setup of 3 18's playing music and the hairtrick with that setup could still be barely acheived but even worse than what it is now. I thought tuning lower would give me a better chance to move some air, but now just thinking of going back to 35 36ish instead of 31 32.

Exactly my point to audioholic. The resonant frequency is definitely where you'll be your loudest, but few vehicles are loose enough to peak below 40hz where you're going to do your hairtricks. Look at hairtrick vids on youtube. They are usually someone who knows what they are doing and has done some deadening. This raises the Resonant frequencies and moves the peak AWAY from where the hair trick will be done at. They have compensated for this with their box tuning. I can't really remember of anyone stating they had a resonant freq of less than 40hz.

Yea I just don't know what else to do because it is pretty intense, but just feel like with different something it has more in it.

makes sense that the cars are usually deadened and sealed well. Getting a hair trick requires the windows being basically the only area for the bass to escape. If there is another low pressure area the bass can escape to then your going to have an uphill battle. How much port area do you have right now? If your port is compressing at all you could be some output that way and the lower frequencies where the port is doing the most work is where you'll probably get your hairtrick at....

Try building a new box with the port in the middle of the box. If I'm thinking correctly, how low you have the port it probably isnt allowing the bass to go back into the cabin.
