You might want to check your math, with 800 watt you would need 10 15" subs for S4... hehehe and if you got that you aint a noob! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

the MECA rules seem complicated but what makes you loud (besides doing homework and building good boxes) is the Subwoofer (cone surface area) and power (fusing in this case). There is more than that but that is a solid start

Read the rules on http://www.mecacaraudio.com go to the SPL drop down menu and select rules. You will find a lot of common ground in each sanctioning bodies rules, it is in the specifics where it gets very different (where is the sensor, etc.).

I plan on entering but I am confused as to which class I will be in. I have never competed in anything so this will be my first comp nor am I an installer/related to one.

I will have...

12" Fi BTL

Crunch GP3000D

2.4F Cap

Optima Red Top under hood

No other batteries with stock electrical (I know I need to upgrade ASAP, but waiting a month for summer to start to get a job)

I do not know the ratings of the crunch so PM me and I will give direct input (this really isnt a forum Q ) but going to the MECA car audio web site is best for answering your own Q;)

For non-MECA members it is still a good idea for our competitions to have in-line fusing ... but it is unreasonable to assume you would have in-line fusing prior to the amp so we have a preferred order: total of on-board fusing on the amplifier, if no fuses then 1/2 the amplifiers CEA rating will be used, if that rating is not available then 1/2 the available the maximum peak rating, if that is not available then 1/2 the published rating, if that is unavailable then 1/2 the theoretical rating is used.... whew so everyone can play even if the dont have an in-line fuse
fusing is not required this is a quote from the rules, so any setup can run without modifications

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif that works well with my VFL 200.1
