I would say the power ratings do not necessarily automatically translate into loudness or sound quality. It depends on subwoofer's sensitivity. For example, 12 inch subwoofers can have sensitivities in the range from 84 to 90dB and beyond, 1watt/1meter I think. Assuming they work within they're usable power/excursion capabilities, the 90dB sensitivity sub could get just as loud as the one with 84dB sensitivity with 4 times less power.does more power mean better sound quality? i am looking for something at 450rms or a little higher. I am also not concerned with space.
