12" Volfenhag Needs more power

if i had a dime every time someone said the volfenhag was crap i would be rich, i personally have heard R's and Punch p2's and p1's i think my sub bangs harder than both..
I love this sub and dont want to risk blowing it so, any suggestings that dont risk blowing my woofer are greatly appreciated.
You're biased and trying to justify your stupid purchase. I've heard 2 15" Volfenhagens or whatever the fawk they are, the octagon or whatever weird shape they are against a single 15" L7 and it was easily 2-3 times louder. Volfenfaggens ****, period.

type r's are better then any volfenhag

Ok ok really.....maybe pic up a nice profile, or maybe a used/refurbished hifonics to power it? Both can be had fairly cheaply....

Leave the guy alone he bought somthing and he enjoys it he asked everyone a question and yet no one has a logical answer all you do is critize him, leave it be answer his question and move on you didn't waste the money on the sub did you? NO there for stf^ with the insults and all that and just help him out, is that not what a Forum is for? Rather then critize everyone.
noone criticized him personally dipsh!t, just criticized the comment comparing equipment that isn't anywhere close to each other. he already knows he needs 500 rms and in the second post his question was answered. lower ohm load or different amp. where's your suggestion?

I have in fact owned 2 10" r's and they didnt give nearly the ammount of bass this thing does, and i have owned 2 Rockford p1 punches 12" and fed 200 rms to each sub and it didnt sound as loud as this single sub, i really could care less of what you say, i have heard many subs and i have made my conclusion, its not the best for SQ but it makes lots of bass, my car registered at 112 DB with 1 sub in a custom ported box for 29hz.If you dont have anything positive to add to this thread please dont post.
lmmfao!!! were all the other systems you heard or had free aired???

my car does more than a 112 with the stock stereo //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rotflol.gif.b453361716769b8110ddefc85ff03cd2.gif

i had one 10" power acoustik that did a 135...

my friend has a single 12" hd3 that was easily twice as loud as this guy that has 4 15" hags in a mini wall kind of thing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Hey, just saw an add in the classified section for a lightning audio amp....400 rms, going for less than $100 shipped. Might even be a bit underrated....its a thought? Might match up well enough with what you have.

btw i own my buds 12" hag with my 12" R. chances are the R's you heard were not getting powered properly. it takes at least 1000wrms to even get them moving

x2. his ????? was already answered. if you 07'ers would search you would know that volf, audiobahn, xplods and all the other cheap fleamarket subs are gonna get flamed on this forum.

i had two 12 inch volfenhags in a q-logic sealed box with an 801s rockford amp as my first substage years ago. at the time i thought it was great but the one ten i have now is louder or at least as loud. but it deff sounds cleaner. but give it the 500watts rms that they call for and you'll be ok. i gave mine about 450 each and they never had a problem doing it. i sold the setup to a friend and he loved it and now he sold it so another friend of his. so they deffinetly served their purpose.

sony amps are......ehh whats the point.

why not just get a volf amp too?

if you want something at least a bit nice you can get a Power Acoustik amp. Their pretty good for budget systems.

at least look at hifonics before volfenhag. hifonics makes really good budget amps. the volfenhags are way over rated on their power. if you need 500 rms, and you decide on volfenhag, i'd get one that states 1000 rms and set the gains right. max power means nothing, ignore those numbers.

The fact is all everyone was doing is taking ShI* and in reality no one gave him a straight fu*** answer there for shut the **** up already with it give him what he wanted and be done with it. And , i couldn't give him a direct answer because i was annoyed but here is my answer.

Find sumone with an amp that is around the same specs as the one you have try that one, sony amps are junk but affordable to those that dont have a high payroll so i would try that out first even if it's just a test , just to give yourself an idea of what you have and what u might need. Otherwise maybe try to find sumone to tune the amp alittle bit maybe you just dont have it set right for the sub ?

Regardless there are a few things you can do without spending money u just need to look around, and if none of those things work just sell your sub and amp to sum idiot for more then you paid for it and buy yourself somthing better.
