12" Volfenhag Needs more power

I have a 12" Volf and its rated 500w RMS and im feeding it to a Bridged XM-2200GTX giving it 500rms x1 @ 4 ohm but i had to wire the sub at 8 ohm so in reality its getting only 250 RMS. I would like to know if there is anything i could do to give this subwoofer more power without buying a new amp?

BTW im using a 8 Gauge wire soon to be 4 but for now i figure 8 gauge is plenty for 250 rms.

it hits really hard right now but i want to give it more power and lower the gain for a bit more cleaner sound.

The amp isnt rated to handle 2 ohm so :|

No offense but it is going to be hard to get very clean sound out of that volfenhag.....

Their isn't really a way to get more power out of that amp unless it is wired at a lower ohm load.

8ga wire is fine for up to around 400-500Wrms or so

yea i bought the volf for BANG and it does exactly that, far louder than any R's that i have heard.

The amp i have is the Sony Xpload 1200 Watt, it runs 4 ohm, im afraid if i run it 2 ohm i will blow the amp up. So really my only bet is to buy a new amp or do i risk wire at 2 ohm?

I love this sub and dont want to risk blowing it so, any suggestings that dont risk blowing my woofer are greatly appreciated.

my in law family is a whole slew of poor mexicans. installed all kinds of flea market crap including volfenhag subs and amps. i'm doubting if you've even heard a type R.

I have in fact owned 2 10" r's and they didnt give nearly the ammount of bass this thing does, and i have owned 2 Rockford p1 punches 12" and fed 200 rms to each sub and it didnt sound as loud as this single sub, i really could care less of what you say, i have heard many subs and i have made my conclusion, its not the best for SQ but it makes lots of bass, my car registered at 112 DB with 1 sub in a custom ported box for 29hz.

If you dont have anything positive to add to this thread please dont post.

Leave the guy alone he bought somthing and he enjoys it he asked everyone a question and yet no one has a logical answer all you do is critize him, leave it be answer his question and move on you didn't waste the money on the sub did you? NO there for stf^ with the insults and all that and just help him out, is that not what a Forum is for? Rather then critize everyone.
