12" Type R vs JBL W12GTi

The JBL will get loud and sound nice to the ears. The Type-R is a budget SPL woofer. In most applications it sounds like ***.

And that is why GTi > Type Argh

Wow and i thought my type r had nice SQ, im missing out.lol

the w12gti is a high power, sound quality sub, and i am very happy with mine!
How much power are you giving it?

Yea i have a 12" type r in a ported box with an alpine 650 amp and i think its got awesome sound quality. I really want to hear the jbl now.lol

to me, sq really comes into play at higher volumes/power. you push the type R, and i think it starts to sound like crap. you push the GTi, and it just sounds louder. sq is all relative anyways, so if the R is good enough for you, go with it. saving money is always nice.

Agreed - you might be disappointed by the JBL because you spent the extra money and to you it isn't much better.

Well i still want it to sound good when i crank the volume. Would i be better off with a type X? isnt that like in the middle between these 2 subs?

They can't even be compared. The type R is a cheap sub that'll get loud but it sounds like ***. The gti has better power handling, not to mention tonality, accuracy, etc.

All depends on what you want out of a sub.Do you want it to blend seemlessly with a nice front stage for natural, accurate, and effortless sounding music. Or do you want to just throw some cheap power at a sub and make it go boom boom? If you're the type that doesn't care about what I listed above and just want some loud and low bass get the hype R.

i have the gtis, if you want great sound subs, the gti. by far the best subs i have purchased for my vehicle.

great detail to sound, and will get very loud doing it.

gti>type r, without a doubt.

even when you port the box is sound good, and alot of subs can say that.

jbl made a engineering feet with these sub.

it was a toss up to me with jl alpine and jbl.

i picked the jbl due to warranty reasons, attention to detail, and they are pro sound woofer taken from the touring series lineup.

(can't say that about jl, even though i love them, alpine are nice too)

to me, jbl's have better technology put into these subs. (not being biased or nothing)

the only other subs i like is the boston acoustic g5 subs.

they sound great in a sealed box.

i dont know about the ported box for them, i would definetly run sealed on them g5.

they will make you ears cry, they have so much attention to detail.

i would love is some did a comparison of the g5 vs. w6 sub.

i probably say the g5 will outplay them.

anyway to your question

the jbl gti's-without a doubt.

This is today's lesson on English and You: Helping you learn the way of English Grammar mother****er. Let me help you write English:

I didn't even fix everything, including capitalization, etc.
