12" Kicker CVX different box or upgrade sub

Not sure on my alternator, never looked. But remember reading and I think 100 maybe? The Cummins alt is 135. A lot of Jeep guys upgrade to that alt for running their winches and lighting.

Ok I'll dump the cap tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure I won't be going any bigger then the amp I have now. This my DD so I don't need a system that's gonna beat my brains out. Just want something that sounds good and is a little louder then what I'm running now. This 1 CVX is probably twice as loud as my last setup (2 Bazooka 12's). Just want it to hit lower and be a little louder and I'll be happy. Always wanted a 15 though so I'm pretty set on getting one.

DEFINITELY NOT A WASTE OF TIME. Jesus whats up with the unncessary kicker hate. Its not a bad sub and its no where near boss. Its a mediocre overrated sub that will perform well in a proper box.

YOUR BOX IS GARBAGE burn it kill it with fire ASAP. If you think you are loud now, just wait till you get a proper box started.

Any of the 2 cubic feet tuned to 32 to 34hz design will be a lot better. Building is simple and cheap Build the box and you can always upgrade subs later in the same box. Box is the most important part of a sub setup, its where all your volume and sound quality comes from, its not always necessarily gear/brand based as long as its not trash subs.

Hell you can even build a 3.5 cubic feet 15 inch sub enclosure and throw the 12 in there and wait till you get a 15 in and swap out.

Before you go doing electrical upgrades check your voltage at the amp. Ditch the cap, build a real box, and boom.

Like Jeff said just get a different box and you will definitely be happy. Stang can even help you out if you don't have everything to build your own.

Awesome! Just what I needed. I know I could build it, just had no clue on how to design one.

I figured my box is the main problem here. The sub seems like it wants to hit but the box just won't let it. I know this subs not the best but I know it's not a total piece of **** either. I'm gonna try building a good box first and if I still want more then I'll upgrade.

Proper ported box is reusable for a sundown or XFL or HDS300 so its not wasting any sort of money. Eventually he'll need a proper box anyways. Sub can be sold for more than the box so No burning the sub is a horrible idea.
