You have complete control of how much power your amp produces. They're called gain controls and a volume knob.i was lookin at a mach 5 Maw-15 and the MJ-18's, however, my amp puts out 657WRMS @ 2 ohms and 456WRMS @ 4 ohms, which is either too much power or not enough power for all of the subs..
i'm confused..i was under the impression that even if you turn the gains down it can still give the subwoofer too much power and blow it?? can somebody explain this to me.You have complete control of how much power your amp produces. They're called gain controls and a volume knob.
While I agree, dont forget that odd occasion when your h/u or linedriver produces more voltage output than your (probably older) amplifier's input stage allows. At that point your downward adjustability on the gains on that amplifier are already limited.I've explained it more times than I can count. You can LIMIT the amount of powr that your amp produces by using a lower gain setting. Anyone who tells you otherwise doesn't know WTF they are talking about.
