I recently picked up a 944 turbo project car, and I'm looking at doing two 8's in a small sealed enclosure, purely SQ.

Recommendations ?

my mom has a 87 944 she just droped a rebuilt and pepped up s2 engine

shes got other stuff like 2001 911 rims and recovered interior ... cars in excellent condition

Maybe a single rl-i8 in a small .3cf enclosure with 500rms should sound decent.

why 8"? you'll have lot more choice if you do at least a 10"....

for example, i'd do a dd9110c, they are made for SQ, and DD is a trusted compagny with build quality;

A JL 10W7 in a .8 sealed enclosure. They sound great in those little sealed boxes, I loved mine.

i can not imagine a DD sub actually winning any real SQ competitions.

i would stick with things we know are winnars.

some ID ID8's would prolly make you feel nice inside, the idq10v3's just came out, w6's are known winners, dls makes some awesome small box subs however i have not gotten a chance to audition. im sure those rli8's or 10's would work well in your application too. you got the DIYMA, stereo integrity, ect.

theres tons of stuff out there, dont limit yourself on 8" woofers, because theres A LOT more if you consider 10's too.

thats just my 2 cents.

also, whats the budget for this? thats a huge part when considering sutible drivers.

2 10" will give you much better SQ than 2 8"... But if you really wanna do 2 8" than I'd do either rl-I or w7

size of woofer has absolutly NO BEARING on sq AT ALL.

The aa 8 holds nothing on a DLS sub as far as sq goes.
