well they box have great reviews (peeps that own them love them) s has 15mm xmax, e has 14mm., my guess is alpine have better sq e be louder, may actually be closer than peeps think.. how much power u gonna run.

Well I'm still running a phoenix gold xs2500 but it's old and tired. So looking into some budget amps between 1000-1500 watts.

What is your budget for amp? I know its gonna start a s storm but Hifonics makes some amps in that power range that are very close to rated power if not at it on most then theres sound quubed and others.

audiopipe over hifonics. I have lots of experience with both. the new hifonics on the market is basically pure boss amps overpriced to hell.

BRZ lines would be the only semi-recent hifonics that would be considered budget power.

I've never used a e but loved all my sa's

Never been impressed with the type s. I don't think 2 would like a 1000w amp

And b stock is nothing to poo poo on

Especially from sundown with their imo strict a stock requirements you will only find minor cosmetic issues with b stock

X2 Underhung motor/coil design for the win. Not B-stock and factory grill available. Designed for SQ and more excursion.

I've seen several type s smoke on 500w amps

I do agree they sound great and played great but they just didn't have the power handling like the type r

If u really want over 1000 or more rms to 10's., 1600 RMS @ 1ohm built like tank $199 (it's what I want) but need to do big 3 upgrade I feel sure for stock alternator to handle it........... * NEW * CAB-1600.1 Amplifier - Car Audio Bargain

For this kind of power and space requirements and budget...how come we aren't discussing Dayton Ref HO's?

I would choose Dayton Ref HO's over either of the aforementioned subs.

The HO's are a very good sounding sub and they do well in very small boxes.

I have $200 for sub's, I'm all open to suggestions. Believe me I would love to drop $2000 on the best that gives you a blow job while making your ears implode but it just isnt happening. Plan is to buy sub's now and upgrade amp when I can.

The box is an under seat in my crew cab I built, so the space is limited to what I have.

I don't need 1000w, its just what the sub's I've been looking at seem to need.
