10" soloX troubles

Well it has not been a good day. I just finished putting my soloX in a different box tuned to about 32hz and it is not working correctly. It gets real loud on the low notes, which is why i changed the box, but the high notes sound like crap.

When it hits a high note (such as the high note in young jeezy: hypnotize) it is like the sub is ******* in instead of hiting out, like the pos/neg is switched. I have checked the wire several times on the amp and on the sub and all is conected as it should be. Also when it sucks it down, if i have it turned up loud it makes a slaping noise in the sub like it is bottoming out. Looking at it further i noticed that each rib in each of the corners on the surround has a slight tear(not all the way through) in it and i dont know how long that has been there or if it could be part of the reason.

The thing that has me stumped is i did not have any trouble with it what so ever when it was in the other box. If you could let me know whats goin on i would appreciate it. Thanks.

I think your box is too small or the port is incorrect? they suggest the 10" to be tuned @ 44hz and anywhere from 2.25ft-6ft of airspace unless you use the suv (recommended) box of 4.91 plus the ports of course......and what amp do you have on it?

stuff is in sig.

I had a thread about this and the conclustion was 2 cubes at 32 would be good for daily. So i went with the advice i got off here because i was unsatisfied with how it hit the low notes with the other box. Now you say the box it too small? I dont know what to do if thats the case.

Does anyone else have an idea of anything else it could be?

alright i have had it up to here with this soloX i do believe. I happen to have a box a little over 2 cubes tuned at 30hz for a 12" in the barn. Can anybody offer advice on a 12" that will take the 2000-4000 watts and fit nicely in this box. The box can be turned back into a dual 12" sealed box at a little over 2 cubes if you think 2 12" sealed would handle the power better.

Basically i have the amp i want now i need a sub that can take the power, fit in the space i have, and hit the low notes like its a walk in the park (which the soloX did not).

Any suggestions or if anyone has anything for sell, maybe a trade for the soloX i would love to hear about it. Thanks.
