10" re sx advice

okay, so i have a 10" re sx d2 that went in a 1.4cu.ft box tuned to 34hz i hope? lol box dimensions are 24"Wx12.5"Hx15"D with a 2" port x 16" slot. does that seem right? if not, what am i looking at? sub it being power by a 600rms amp. have no intentions of up grading amp as this is what i have.

having this setup for a couple days now and it just sounds off, not as accurate as a sealed box. it kinda sounds slightly muddy like a fart box but isn't too bad. any way to change this? should i add wood to decrease the airspace? i know it will change the tuning but i actually liked my other box that was tuned at 40hz but was for a 12" so 36-38hz should be fine. any help would be appreciated.

36-38hz is pretty high, but if you like it, more power to you. I've done a couple of boxes in the 1.25-1.5ft^3 area tuned to 30-32hz, and they work pretty well in that area IMO.
