hey guys, i got my first system setup finally! sonata 2011, system in sig. Kenwood ddx616 headunit. hu not as fast as i would like (15 sec boot), but it was only $450 and it has a volume nob which was a big requirement for me.

my system was sounding pretty whack until i figured out that i had to move the fader all the way forward. I guess because i don't have rears running? i don't know but its night and day difference since i've done that. Sounds great! A little bit of noise in the tweeters however. Most noticable on silent vocal bits of the song. worst i've seen is the very beginning of 311 - Daisy Cutter and also lou reed coney island baby. im still happy though.

Now that i've seen whats possible, i want to get a sub. im going to get a sealed enclosure made from Hyundai Sonata 2010-2011 Sub Enclosure

since i'm going to be bridging the rear channel of my amp for the sub, that gets my like 300watts 4ohms. keep in mind this is for sq. im not looking to turn heads and frankly am a little hesitant to even get a sub because i dont want to have my car rattling like i see so many other cars with subs doing.

I'm thinking something like an Image dynamics: WoofersEtc.com - ID10D4 V.3 - Image Dynamics 10" Dual 4 Ohm V.3 Subwoofer

Budget: under $200

thanks

do i want the single or dual coil model?
Single. On a single 4 ohm voice coil, your only wiring options are 4 ohms. On a dual 4 ohm coil, however, you can wire it to 2 ohms or 8 ohms. Since you need a 4 ohm load, you would want the single.

DCON looks like a fine choice... rave reviews.

I've used a few different ID subs and have always been happy with them. The IDs have great SQ and decent output.

Also good choices:

Infinity Reference

JBL GTO

You can run the SVC subs on the GM-DX871 at 1 Ohm, just lower the gain at the amp. The third sub is too different to run on the same amp as the...
