Alright fella's I honestly have no clue what guage I should be using. Right now I have 4 Infinity Ref. Speakers (2-6.5's and 2- 6x9's) and a JL 10w0. (I know not the best system but enough for what I want). I'm going to be running the Infinity's with a Pioneer GM-X544 ( abt.300 watt amp) and the JL with a Pioneer GM-X352 (abt 200 watts). I'm going to run new wire to all my speakers and to the sub and I was curious what guage I should be using. I was thinking with a 10 or 12 guage would do because this isn't a HUGE system but let me hear what you guys think. Also what type of other wire should i be looking at to d oa complete install. Thanks for the help, Peace, James

I would say your power wire should be 8guage to be safe and for later add ons....ground the same....speaker wire should be 14 for the infinitys and I would say the same for the sub, but you could not go wrong with 12 on the sub either....good luck with your install

thanks Goddyd4me, but do you think it would be wrong for him to run 4 guage power wire to a distro block making 2 or more 8 guages? Same for the ground?

hmmm.....me personally i'd use a diff. ground for both amps....pretty sure if u use the same you run the risk of inducting some noise into the amp.....not 100% sure on that tho....

I am usign the same ground for 2 amps. For both the claifornia and the Kraco amp. No road noise or anything. Sounds clear as it could considering the 6x9's are 85% gone!!!

I appreciate the input fellas it definately helps. I'll probably end up going with the 8 gauge power, and the 12 gauge speaker wire. I'm probably not going to upgrade b/c I'll be getting a new car in about a year when I go off to college and give this one to my brother. I'll definately post some picture when it's all done. Thanks guys and if you have any other pointers, then throw them out. Peace, James
