$10,000 Build! Need help on what to get!

Actual equipment will vary greatly depending who you ask, but the one thing you will get a consensus on is electrical. Running such a large system, no matter how "uber-leet" your equipment is, if you don't have the electrical to back it up, your budget will dwindle very quickly. With just a single 350 amp alt you will be somewhat limited to sub-10k watt amps as far as power but depending on space it shouldn't be a problem. Just make sure you have the reserve to back it up. As for actual equipment, go wild. Build something you haven't seen a thousand times in some ghetto youtube video. BE UNIQUE.

I'd just like to throw out that two Ascendant Audio SMD 18's in a 6th order would be sick on a DC7.5k. Plus, you would have plenty left over for some glasswork for your doors to fit a metric ton of mids/highs.

Lol, my bad. I didn't say pro audio though. They could be elegant or practical without being overly-obnoxious. Like 2 8's playing lower midbass, 2 6.5's playing mids, and a couple tweets to round out the top. Would play a great range, up to par with sub section at least, and wouldn't be totally douchey like a camaro on 24's. Also, twisted doesn't live in florida either. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

EDIT:Just noticed SMD's are unavailable anyways. Meh just buy some SA-12's and call it a day.

i think the first question that seems to be missing here is the ultimate goal of your system. Are you looking for straight up numbers and spl on the termlab, or just a system to groundpound like never before? Or maybe something in the middle?

That is going to totally change what kind of equipment you should look at.

Also, about putting it in a 6th order bandpass, I'm not convinced that is a great idea. It may be fantastic for some types of subs, but I highly doubt that it will be the optimal enclosure for ANY sub that you buy.

I think you should pick your sub before you decide what sort of enclosure you want, instead of the other way around.

Just my opinion.

Less is more when ya have that much cash. Don't get dumb. A 4th will get louder. I would look at a pair of 21 wardens or 18" lvl 6 DC's......

Drop around 14k to the pair for power, and then get the mids/highs to match up.

10 grand don't go far to be honest. Make sure you get the required electrical there first and foremost.
