is this too much for a sql S-10 ext.cab? i got 150 watts 4ohm on each side powering a set of infinity perfects in the door(loud as hell!!!) i got a free set of mtx 7500 12" but thinking about selling those and running with a idmax!! i know the idmax is a 1000 watt rms-the TRU HAMMER is like 1200 watt rms. i listen to mostly metal and industrial-ocassional hip-hop when the ladies are DEEP THROATING :boobies:

1) a hammer is good for more than 1600 watts, probably close to 3k if you have the charging system to back it... i was getting about 1400 out of mine with a failing charging system, no where near enough current.

2) with a SVC 4 ohm woofer(taken from your other post asking about this set up (two threads for one topic, classy)) you would be at about 750-800w, assuming you had the current. so i wouldnt worry about popping the sub unless you go with a different coil configuration.
