1 Ohm?

I am getting ready to have my first experience with a 1 ohm load , some of the threads I have read mention that running 1 ohm creates distortion is this going to be noticeable to my ear , I am going to be running with gains turned down because I don't need all the power that the amp is capable of , will this help combat distortion if there would normally be some.

Ive never heard of people getting distortion because they are running at 1 ohm. The only reason i could think of 1 ohm causing distortion is the lack of a suficient power system. If you cant supply the amp with the power it needs then yes there will be distortion.
