1 HDC vs 2 HDS

So SoundQubed has these bundle packs. Its about $100 diff between....

1) HDC315 w 1) Q1-2200d or 2) HDS312 w 2) Q1-1200d

The HDS's would be the higher price of the 2 deals. Im guessing the few hundred watts with the greater cone area would make the HDS's worth the extra $100. Is this so or no?

'10 Jeep Patriot only 5cu....I'm trying to figure If 1 HDC315 on 1 Q1-2200d would be louder than 2 HDS312's on 2 Q1-1200d's, with only an Optima YT an Big3?

2 hds312's will be louder. More cone area and twice the voice coil so it wont heat up. Id do a 2200 at .5 ohm over the 2 1200's at 1 ohm a piece. Since you have a jeep, id do 4 cubes tuned to 38 with 17" of port per cube. Subs up and port to the side. Port facing the passenger side and subs all the way on the drivers side. Make it where the box is pretty much touching the hatch but leave a port widths length from the side of the box on the port side. Itll load to the side and in suvs thats usually the best. Had the same box in a denali and it got loud.

I currently have a 4cu box, im sure i could get another cu.Foot out of ths space. Maybe if i raised the hieght of the box by a few inches. And would AeroPorts allow for more volume n the same dimensions or is they'r displacement about the same as a reg port?

I love how everyone defaults to "more cone area means it must be louder." I won't argue that it makes sense, but it isn't definitive. Personally, I'd get a dual 1 hdc3 15 and a 2200.

Well ur talking about sending twice the power to 1 sub or half the power to 2 subs ..id lean towards the hds3s if it was the 2200 but it should be close either way using the bundles

Is ther a benefit to running the 1 2200d vs 2 1200d? Couldnt i get the same power at 1ohm from 2 1200's as i could at .5ohm with the 2200?

2 1200s will work fine but will cost more .now if u get a 2200 and run it at .5 ur looking at around 2700rms

15 has more motor but half the coils. For a DD more coils = more play time. Ive never had a 15 be as loud as 2 12's either.

Not a big fan of aeros. Just do a big slot port, those subs dont need 5 cubes, 4 is perfect ,as long as you have the box braced as shat, and the right port area built with the port on the side, itll bang.

Is that safe, im new to this an i usually see the amps state 1ohm stable, is .5 unstable?

2.5cf ea since you're giving them "rated" power. Would get hella nasty man

I'll put my 15" setup against a couple of similar 12"s. There is so much more that goes into a loud setup than sticking a couple 12"s in a box. If you don't believe me, I'll show you some of my scores.
