do you think that i should get 2 12" brahmas? i have to run them in a small sealed enclosure. prob around 1cb foot per sub. do you think they would be that much louder than my diamonds?

ok...if you can only do 1 cu. foot box per sub..then you definantly cant go with a 15" brahma....they should have around 3. I have never heard the Diamond subs so I couldn't tell you. Are you going for SQ or SPL??? The brahma is a great mix of both.

Diamond Audio subs are the best sounding subs i've heard. not the loudest, but they are very clean.

i want 2 12" Brahma's, and on the adire audio website it says they can have a box as small as .7 cb feet. I just don't know if my 1k watt amp would be enough power for both of them.

josh99ta on termpro and soundillusions.net has a single brahma 12" in a 1.1 cubic foot enclosure. He was hitting 140.? dB with a dei 1100d. It's in his late model f-body. I don't know about you, but 140 dB is frickin' loud. With a pair of brahma's in a sealed enclosure with 1000 watts to each, you're looking at 140-145 dB depending on your car and how much sound deadening material you have. And this loudness will give you the real world thump and pound because the sealed enclosure with transfer function stays flat across a range of frequencies as opposed to certain ported enclosures that are loud that tend to peak and not really sound as loud (if it's tuned high) but actually are louder.

Also, I've spoken with josh a few times, he's a real audiophile, and he says that it is by far the best sub he's ever heard.

I've heard that the brahma is a great sub when it gets over 1000 watts to it. They say it starts to shine then because when most subs get high power levels, the bl curve tends to peter out and more power doesn't really increase the volume linearly, wheras the brahma should stay very linear at getting loud as more power is applied to it.

Dreamer, do you think that they would be that much louder than my Diamonds? I bet that my subs are pushing around 135-140 and i don't wanna go and spend the 600++ dollars for Brahmas and maybe the 300 or so that i can get a PPI-PCX 2400 for. that's a 900 dollar investment, on a Busboy's pay. I know that i can get 2 MacDaddy 12" for probly 200-300 dollars, and then spend the other 300 for the amp. Do you think that that would be a better way to get more for my money?

I wish I knew more about the mac daddy, however the site is extremely uninformative about what the sub's specs are. I would tell you my opinion if I knew more, but from what I know now, I can say is that the brahma is probably the best sub for the money that I can think of. I'd say enjoy what you have now, it's a nice set up, save up a ton of money then get the best you can get = )

I agree strongly with the Diamond sight being uninformitave...it has the depth of all the new woofers, but you cannot find the depth of the Mac Daddy.

no a 15" brahma prolly won't work in a 1cu ft box, however according to adire, the biggest box you should throw em in is 2.5 cubes...sorry just had to clear that up
