i make too many threads on what subs to get. i just cant decide.. but these are pretty cheap. dont need much power. i was going to get 2 18" dvc 1 ohm of them and wall it off in about 16 cubes tuned to 30 hertz... they only need 800 wrms a piece so power isnt an issue.. so if i put 2000 watts to the both of them with that box, should i be mid to upper 140's?.. looking for 147 or so on music

u could do over 150 easily with the FI SSD's loaded with that much cone area and the right amount of power and right box on music if you know wat your doing..
good to hear //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif! i wasnt sure about them seeing they were the lower end of FI... looks like i might go with those then... so a wall with 16-18 cubes after displacement tuned low like 30 hertz should get me what i want? give each sub say 1000 watts?

with 2kw, i hope u hit a 147, hehe.

I did a 147.7 (148.0 clinic) last week with 2 12s and 2,300w of actual power. facing forward in a hatchback.

wat subs were used?

i was doing 150 - 151 on music with 2 12 fi ssd's on a mmats d3500.05 aprox 1500 wrms to each sub, it was a pain in the assss to get to those numbers though since it was a trunk car and due to diferent box testing, tunnin, the box i ended up with was tune to 36 hz:crap:

op. i think you'll only need around 6 cf for each sub, ssd's dont require huge boxes to get good numbers, 34 hz will be fine for those daily, get them around 1400 wrms a piece though

really??? i dont doubt you at all seeing you seem to have some experience with them.. but will that 6 cubes per sub get me my groundpounder? from experience and what i have been told, big boxes tuned low is the trick to playing loud lows...and arent they only rated at 800 wrms?

i think that 800 rating is for stock ones and even then.. it's underating.. add some options to them and 1200-1500 is possible I would suppose in the right box.

yeah, i tried atleast 8 diferent boxes with them, you could fold down the back seats on my car though so that helped a lot too, i believe there rated 800 in the stock state, with bp and flatwind added you could add up to 600 - 700 wrms if your carefull, i was putting to shame many subs that were supose to get louder than my ssd's, but its all in the install and testing etc.. if your going to add all those options to the SSD's might as well get some Q's since there almost the same price as a loaded ssd

i was at a show once were people wouldnt believe me they were SSD's they said they were either Q's or BL's so I had to take them out of the box to prove them they were SSD's .. although i felt that i didnt have to prove nothing but for the fact that people thought i was BS'in i took them out of the box to shut them up.

hmmm... well sounds like they can get pretty good and loud... not sure if i would get it loaded though. the idea is to keep it a budget system and by doing that i would want the need for more power to go down. so getting the additional options added would mean more $$ and more $$ for an amp.. it does sound great though
