Hello i figured i would try my problum on here. Im curious if any one has used a headphone jack bootster or amplifier? i noticed on my portable xm radio unit a few diff ones when i plug inthrew the mini plug and to head unit it jsut is weak and dirty sounding. but if i plug headphones in it sounds jsut fine.

So has lead me to belive it must be somethign to do with the signal strength that is being put out jsut enuff for head phones and not enuff wanted by splitting mini into rca's or even going directly into muni plug on back of headunit. do you think if i use a booster or 1/8 " jack amp it will dirty up the sound even more?

main reason is why i ask is i plan on using my laptop or black berry on my small pa set up both are 1/8" headphone jacks low signal for the mixer would like to have . and ideas?

mainly im trying to figuer out the best product to boost the signal. since signal is jsut manufactured as enuff for headphones but when trying to use it as a sorce for mixer doesnt seem like it has enuff input juice.

what input are you putting it in the mixer? are you going from 1/8 out from xm to 1/4 into the mixer? are you sure the audio out of the xm is line level? line level and the rca input on hu's arent the same. just fyi

my main concern is from xm or blackberry to the mixer . they hooked it up at the guitar shop so id think they would know. it went from 1/8" mini split to dual 1/4" jacks into a chanel on mixer.

have you tried a different cord? could be bad. try a 1/8 to stereo rca male cord straight to the hu. did you try turning up the volume on the devices?

that would be right in hooking it up to a mixer, but for the hu you need rca. most consumer audio outputs are 1/8 and most consumer audio inputs are usually rca.

Yea when it was on hu tryed diff cabels last I had a monstercable mini to rca. Volume was up and line out on xm was up to. May have been portable xm unit I had. But I had two diff ones had a sky fy 2 ana a pioneer ino.

But main concern is with mixer now. Has any one tryed the booster or maybe will pick one up and report back on how it works. Just want to get the best sound out of my pa with the desktop I have stuffed full of music.
