Question: I need to know the best battery upgrade for my setup
Setup: 05 trailblazer.. 150a alt.. stock battery under hood... yellow top in rear... 1.5kw (us amps ax series)... 1 18" re xxx.
I want to eventually move on from 1.5kw to 3kw. This sub is a ****ing monster on 1.5 i can't imagine it at 3kw, double the power. In its sealed box some of the songs it drops on... my GOD.
..anyway enough of the sub-*** but on full power (alpine head unit goes to about volume 20-25 before distortion through components begins)...
i can listen fine at 1-10 (volume), but when i hit 15 and 20-25, it BOOMS for a minute, then it seems as if the "umph" it had when i first turned it up was gone, and the headlights start dimming dramatically.
now i obviously know what the problem is, my electrical needs upgraded.
I was thinking that if i slowly build it up, i can eventually swap amps (us amps ax-1500de to sundown saz-3000)
Alternator: EA, Iraggi.... i've been hearing so many conflicting reports about these alternators I really honestly don't know what to believe. Mean Green has never responded back to me for a quote. Any recommendations or support for either company here?
Battery: Plan - take current yellow top and replace stock battery under hood with that. With no battery in rear, i was considering the Kinetik series, like the hc2400, etc. ANY other brand recommendations? Also, what size battery would i need or would be sufficient with a YT under the hood on 3kw (and NO alt upgrade?)
