Maybe look into DB Electrical... Ron is a super cool guy and will talk to you about your specific application, as he is the one who builds them. I picked up a 200A alternator for my S10 for $215 shipped. Much cheaper than some of the other guys out there, and it did wonders for my electrical system. Still waiting on my Kinetik to get in, but with the alternator and Big 3 done, and stock battery, my voltage hangs at 13.9 at idle. I'm running about 1100w on my sub amp, and another 650 on my mids/highs. Not the biggest draw in the world, but I have no second battery or anything. when you say G31 dekas... what manufac/model are you referencing?
and i would go mean green but i'm leaning towards ohio generator since mean green hasnt responded for 3 weeks.

easily the dekas. they are pretty close to the hc2400 and the PM3100 anyways as all these batteries are AGM g31 batts (specs should be very similar, although i hear the PM does edge out most batteries in its class)

using 2, cuts your ESR in half too, which means quicker discharge/recharge, as well as more reserve, capacity etc etc etc. you cant loose with 2 of the dekas, in this case. not a fair comparison.

BTW if you are looking into Ohio Gen alternators, you need to have a little talk with ngsm13. he has installed like 5+ (or maybe it was even 9, i just dont remember, im sure you can find the thread though if you search) of them at his shop, and all have failed. he says the quality is not the same it used to be.

so aside from ohio gen... what other options are there?

mean green, excessive amperage, irragi, db electrical, motor city reman, H-O alternators.

1) motor city sucks *** though. do some advanced searches for posts by me (Ignoreme) and motor city reman. you will see why.

2) i have not heard anything negative about mean green alts (mine was the only one that had the bearing make noise, and they told me to send it back and they will fix it under warranty and send it back. i dont have time for this though. its easy enough to do yourself). and i have also heard nothing but positive things about H-O brand alternators. they are top notch as well from what i have read, but they come with a higher price as well. H-O does their own R&D though, and make their own parts, hence the price incrase. i believe they also use avalanche diodes, which are pretty much the best around.

3) Db electrical, EA, iraggi, are nothing but hit and miss from what i have seen, and many of the stories about iraggi seem to suggest scamming. take it for whats it worth.

oh yes. im sure they will work for some people but for the explorer it sucked dick. 2 alternators, and nothing. they tried to blame it on my friends car. i got him to pick up a mean green just like i got for my explorer...no problems since then.

take it with a grain of salt, since i have heard of some people being ok with them. but for me, i will NEVER buy one for my car after seeing the problems my buddy had. even with the smallest pulley on it, it would not kick on at idle. not to mention they were hesitant to give my friend a refund, and when they did it took like a month to be charged back.

I ordered from motor city reman a 200A for my grand prix.

the customer service manager refused to refund me my money on a defective alternator, said he would "repair" it with shipping costs taken care of by ME. i said hell no, refund me... then he blamed me and said it was my install that caused the problem when my EA worked fine. he wouldn't. he then told me to "shut the fvck up and fvck off"

paypal, and paypal and both my credit card company **** major wang with chargebacks/disputes.

i was in a dispute with chase/paypal and sonic electronix... sonic wouldnt honor the warranty on my eclipse cd5100...

filed a dispute with paypal, they said contact chase and file a dispute (after 20 days waiting for paypal)

filed a dispute with chase, after 3 months a "manager" called me back and said they cant do shit as they cant force a company to honor a warranty.

went online, filed a BBB complaint with chase, within 3 days i had an "account executive" call me back and saw a $400 credit on my credit card.
