1/0 awg wire same as 0 awg wire?

Thanks a lot. Im going to do the Big 3 on my car and my neighboor can probaly get me the wire I need. Just didnt know how to say 1/0 awg wire...lol. So what would 2/0 be?

Im not getting the whole 1/0, 2/0, 3/0, ect. I think the first number is the number of runs in the wire and the 0 is the guage of each run? Any light on what i'm seeing?

1/0

= 0 gauge

= 1 aught

2/0

= 00 gauge

= 2 aught (double aught)

3/0

= 000 gauge

= 3 aught (tripple aught)

and so on.. I know it goes to at least 6/0 under the AWG.. It might go higher but be labeled different but I know there is thicker then 6/0.

Its just a measure of the thickness I think.
