06 Saturn Ion Radio Replacement

Ok, first off, I apologise if this question is annoying, but I've looked all around, and tried to find in this forum, and I'm going crazy...but anyway...06 ion...has the gm lan crap, but...I don't care about onstar or door chimes, do I need the expensive interface? Can I just run an accessory from the fuse box? Please help before all my hair is gone!!

The interface would be a personal choice. If you are installing a new head unit, you should be able to purchase an inexpensive harness to attach your head unit to the factory power, memory constant, and speaker wiring. contact crutchfield.com support staff to see if this is possible. They also offer a "ReadyHarness™ Service", where they wire the harness for you. ($24.95) Makes it a plug and play, when you get it.
