04 silverado dual 12" sub system options

actually u can tune a sealed box but not in the traditional way since all you can do is add polyfill or add blocks to take up space thus raising or lowing the f3 of the box.
in this case most 12s will perform great in this box. and it depends on total cost and what you are willing to invest. two morel ultimo 12s work fabulous in this box.

for loud and low you want a sub with a light mms and a light suspension like the id lines. or you can over come the restriction with more power and motor force like the mach 5 ixl
F3/Fc =/= tuning. They're similar but not the same. The OP doesn't need to worry about it.

So I've decided and bought the sd-2's a day or two ago. The box just got here this morning and fits really snug but none the less the seat does latch. Looked at the clearance an it'll be close. If I have to I'll lift the seat an inch and put the box on one inch risers to give it more breathing room. I went with the Rockford fosgate R1200-1D amp and also ordered nvx big 3 kit and there 0/1 gauge amp install kit. Should be more then covered lol I'll post pics of everything in a bit!

How did you remove the bottom? Ive been trying to figure out how to take the bottom off mine

I you look at on of the pictures you will see the bracket on the side of the box with 2 bolts that hold it down. There is another one on the driver side as well. Once you remove the bolts you will need to unclip the lock wire that allows the seat to fold up. Once you get started you will see how the setup works.

Yeahhh removing the seat bottom wouldn't work for me. I taxi around too many people lol otherwise I wouldn't of spent $300 for fitted box and could of stuck sum real power in a much cheaper box. here's a little progress or prep work I should say, I'm still waiting on all my stuff yet.

One question I got is I've never liked using the spring loaded speaker wire inputs on the prefab boxes(idk what there called) is there a better way to run the speaker wires? I'd like to keep the wire intact and just run it through a hole and seal it up with silicone if that makes sence. Any thoughts? Break in period needed? How is that done? I heard these subs are stiff outta the box
