If you don't have access to an RTA for the purpose of setting an outboard eq then there's not a lot of good it can do. Of course, that's my opinion and in the end, whatever sounds good to you is fine with me... it's not my car so I don't have to listen to it.

As for Boss... no, it is not a good brand. It's just about the cheapest, lowest quality brand of car audio gear on the market.
