01 Jeep Grand Cherokee: NEED HELP installing headunit

RADIO 12V red/white at the radio

RADIO GROUND black at the radio

RADIO SWITCH white/red at the radio

RADIO ILLUMINATE none

POWER ANTENNA none

"borrowed off of 12volt.com for 2001 jeep cherokee stereo wiring"

options are buy 12 3 ft pieces of wire and ttap the factory wires after unplugging the amp

bad idea

buy the bypass and match colors :p (i recommend)

retain factory amp (which u will be happier with headunit internal amp imo) and the harness to do this is prob very expensive

So BUY the harness...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

so the only other option would by cutting wires correct???

they make a harness to change headunit and keep ur factory amp, i think u will be more pleased with the internal amp(your stereo) then with the factory amp being retained.

and that harness to keep the factory amp is prob very expnesive as most of them are

fixed

no u dont have to cut the wires, do u know what ttaps are?????

you could unplug the harness look up the wiring diagram and tao into the wires no cutting that way u could put the factory radio back in.

either way you have to run the wires from your stereo to after that amp,

spend the 30 bucks and make your life easy

no amp will be BYPASSED hence the name of the item bypass harness

You are such as **** noob with all these jeep help threads. just install the **** head unit, its soo easy just match color to color and then whenever you get components and a front stage amp bypass the amp by taking out the two harness on the infinity amp under the rear seat( passenger side on an '04).

theres NO big need or reason to bypass the factory amp when you are gonna use stock door speakers anyways. It won't yeild much difference in sound going from the Head unit straight to the speakers instead of stopping at the factory amp first with stock door speakers, thats just a waste of time. just install the Head unit for now running to the factory amp and later get comps asap and an amp for them. then problem solved and you would hear a difference.

god dam its all common sense.
