Advice / tuning suggestions for new install that sounds bad

Hi yall- I need some advice on an install I just had a local shop do in my 2024 F250 Platinum with the B&O stock set up. I previously had another local shop do two other trucks (same truck just a 19' and a 21") with identical components
(2) VX600 amps,VX800/8 amp,DRC205 digital remote,(4) C7100CT tweeters,(4) C7650CW mids (2) 13TW5v subs in a sealed MTI box) because it sounded great. Large full sound with tight lows and good fast drum response.
I just had this set up done- Audison AF M12.14, audison apk 690 front doors, audison apx 6.5 rear doors, audison AP 2 MV front pillars and center, (4) Hertz Mille ML200 8" subs and a Rockford T2500-1bd
The shop built the sealed enclosure for the subs. The current tune sounds terrible- its flat and "thin" unless the head unit volume is all the way up. The subs sound small and punchy. I was told if we went with the full size 8's we would get longer excursion and the lows would be as good as the TW5v's I had before.
Is there potential with this equipment? Is the tuning the issue? The stock B&O had so much more mid range and a fuller, thicker sound. They offered to re-tune it, but I wanted to listen to it for the weekend to get my review or criticisms straight. Right now the system sounds like a Ice cream truck loud speaker- just loud with no mid or low. Thanks for any help or advice.

It sounds like you're looking for specific audio tuning advice. It's best to consult with an audio professional who can assess your setup in person.

What I'm hoping for is some other folks that have experience with this equipment to let me know if better results are possible. I was really on the fence about the 4-8" subs and ultimately chose them based on the advice of the shop.

Going from c7's to audison drivers you will definitely be disappointed out the box
Unless it's the audion thesis

But not all hope is lost, with proper eq work even budget drivers can sing quite nice only problem might be finding an experienced tuner

Not sure you will get those 8's to dig as low as the jl 13's in any efficient manner
Might need eq boosting on the low end you will just need to audibly monitor their xmax and xmech to see what they can actually handle

Did you have a DSP installed?

Ya, more than likely just needs eq work to dial in the sound signature he wants
I have an appointment Friday for the shop to tune it- I got a little more "full" sound by turning up the tuning in the head unit, but the doors sound terrible, no mid bass while listening to rock or bass guitar type notes. the front highs are loud when I crank the volume, but hollow. I think the best way I can describe it is - loud but not powerful. When its turned up loud, the subs over shadow the lack of mids.

Well you have 6x9 in front doors that supposedly play from 40hz which i think is a stretch
Non the less they should be more than capable to play decent midbass

You might want to double check the install if doors are all properly sealed and deadened and the crossover on them could potentially be a bit high
I would try them at 70hz see how they hold up otherwise 80hz could suffice

They did a re-tune with my notes and dropped the door 6x9 down to 60hz and upped the volume (not sure what software or parameters they can control for each channel, but he said they could independently control channels) so now the system sounds more full. They lowered the point where the subs peak so there is more bass at lower volume and it helped the sound a good deal at low to mid volume, but now the subs get muddy when cranked. I may have just made a bad decision going with the 4 - 8"s rather than the 13.5 i had before. the enclosure they built is kind dorky- and too tall, I may build another before I abandon the 4- 8"s set up. Thanks for the advice.
