deck's sub level control setting while setting amp gain?

ok i have another question. I just set the deck to +10 out of 15. Set my gains and sounds good. Now if i play a song that has very little bass and i want it to have a little more, if i turn it up passed +10 does that mean im sending a clipped signal even though its a very low bass song?

Will this O-scope be good enough to set the gain on my amps?

i hate to dig up an old thread like this but I was wondering if the original poster or anyone for that matter has tried this o-scope? I ran across it on ebay as well by accident and then found this thread.....lol being such a cheap price i was somewhat skeptical. Will this work for setting gains?

deck's sub level control setting while setting amp gain?

And I guess that is really my dilemma. Is the sub level setting on a Kennwood Excelon deck an attenuator from +15 on down, or is 0 considered the “starting point” ??? Any other Excelon users may be able to shed some light on this? If 0 is the starting point than that would mean it is “boosting”...

I currently have it set at +15 and my amp gain is around half way. I purposely did it this way so I...

will my alternator survive??? please advise, i know nothing

Ok, i went down to the only local stereo shop here in town and talked to the owner. He's been installing for 20 yrs so I hope i can trust his opinion. He said that an amp to run the 4 speakers wouldn't really draw a whole heck of alot since its gonna be set with the high pass filters on anyway...

amp has less power after raising gain??

I was messing with the gain on my sub amp with a dmm tool. I realize some people dont like to use a dmm for setting gain but i was just curious what mine was doing. Anyway, at 3/4 gain I get 35.9 on dmm. Now my amp is supposed to be rated 360 at 4 ohm. so according to the formula i come up with...

need new sub/amp after 4 ch amp install???

yes it has enough pre outs. I just thought with the 4 ch amp I wouldnt have to turn the headunit as high and in turn that would decrease the amount of power sent to the sub amp. Sorry for the noob questions. Just startin to learn about this stuff.
