I haven't used the Palm software, but I know with the PC version it is glitchy when the master volume/remote bass knob is plugged in. Try unplugging that and then reconnecting, it might work better.

a lot of dash kits come with them. Most of the Metra and American International kits for newer GMs come with them... you could ask a local shop if they have any lying around.

You must have a strong ass soldering gun/iron to solder 1/0... I just use a hammer crimper (weldingsupply.com) I also prefer the "car audio style" terminals over the "lug" style as they are a little easier to crimp.
