I have a 15 Durango with no amplifier. I'm trying to see if the tweeter signal is full range (tweeter has a cap on it). My big question is can I run my DSP straight from 2 channels off the OEM headunit or do I need to run all 6 speakers back to a JL FIX82 in order to get a good signal to my DSP...

I prefer studs. No change in power and easier to secure connections.

If you even try to put it in your car then make sure you isolate it or it will kill your starter batt.

Get the 2nd batt. With 2k you might not need a HO alt. I'm just over 2k with stock alt and 2 H7 agm batts. No dimming etc.

Batts are tough because you can't see whats happening to them. Most people lost capacity so slowly that they don't notice it. If you want to prove it get your hands on a Midtronics tester. You can measure the actual CCA. Its not a thorough test but good enough to get you an idea of the health...

You should expect a lower life span for the batts. As they age, they will have a slightly different resting voltage which will cause a parasitic drain.

Red tops are not designed for deep cycle. Get a yellow or blue top only for car audio.

Try to keep the exact same batt size (and age) in order to maximize life of the batts.

Install your trunk batt and remove your front batt. Then save up for a 2nd Hc1400.

To prevent fires, you fuse to the wire size. But to help keep your equipment safe, you fuse to the sum of all our amps fuses. Lower is always better. If you start popping them, then bump it up a size.
