The Polk/MOMO are some of the better speakers you'll see at large retail stores. I like them better than the Kappas and the Type-Rs. They have silk tweeters and they play a bit more bass than most other speakers of the same size. The MOMOs against the Type-X, I wouldn't be able to tell you...

you need to get Piezo sirens! they kill your ears like crazy.

Give the Type-Rs more than 300w RMS, they NEED it. A lot of people I know run 600w RMS to each of their Type-Rs and they can definately take more power than that. Infinity subs are a little power hungry too, but I'm not sure what's a good ammount of power for the Reference subs.

Should have gotten the dual voice coil version of that sub... that way you'd be running 350w to it, assuming you have the MRP-M350 amp.

That's because it's an Alpine. As far as I know, all other brands just need to be grounded. Alpine uses 2 wires, which are supposed to goto the ebrake and the regular brake and as you said there's some kind of sequence that you have to do. Bypass boxes were made for display purposes in stores...

it does that do it doesnt have to keep turning off and back on any time theres a pause in the music... it senses power going through the wire and it has a timeout time for it to turn off..

It simply does not have a HPF. I have the unit above that so I don't think yours will have it when mine doesn't.
