Do I like my CDT HD62?

This is very, very unlikely. I'll say once again, a speaker won't "come alive" because of a given amount of wattage, unless you have no idea how to set your gains. For normal listening levels, 50 watts would do. For safety's sake, I'd give them their RMS and call it a day. Of course, none of...

Best Comps to run off HU

That might be a bit too much juice for the stock alternator. The Nine.1 is wired for 120 amps. Probably way too much for a stock alternator on most cars. But if you're looking for something that'll run well without a lot of power (you could use a small amp, like a 50x2), pay attention to...

Do I like my CDT HD62?

Well, being electrically in phase doesn't guarantee that the speakers will sound right, so it's always worth playing with the phase anyway. Also, check to see if there is a high-pass enabled on the crossovers (either amp or head unit) and try lowering it.

    Pro 60 replacements.

If you were happy with the Pros, stick with them. Why mess with a good thing. Though, given all this recent talk about the Pro vs. Z6, I went out and did some listening today. I can't say that I agree. I think the Z6 still sounds better. Of course, that was on a soundboard, so your mileage may...

    Diamond audio vs Boston acoutics

    Boston hands down.
  7. N

    Another Vs. thread

I'd say that it really comes down to preference. The CDTs will likely be a bit more mellow. The Bostons more lively. Depends on how you take your music. Though, if memory serves me right, the Bostons should cost significantly more than those CDTs. I would think the CDT ES ($300 from woofersetc.)...

    Type X' components

I had a dealer down here offer those to me for a bit over $300. They typically sell for about $230-$250 from the various gray-market internet dealers. Unless his friend offers warranty, I don't see why wouldn't just get them from Ikesound or something. I also had a dealer offer me a/d/s 3s for...

    Type X' components

I hope your friend is a dealer and those are new. That's pretty much what you'd pay in a shop. Make sure they're SPX-177 with the ring-dome radiator. The original type-X came with a standard silk, which wasn't as good. You can tell by the crossovers. The old ones had huge acrylic crossovers. The...

Some thoughts on Oz Audio 180cs

Yeah, like I said, the install is really, really rough right now. These are just some initial thoughts. As I work through it, things will improve, I'm sure. Right now, I just have them thrown in the doors. Short days really ****. Not enough sunlight to get things done. But it seemed there was...

    Celestra

Um, I don't think they have any distribution stateside. I mentioned them long ago on ECA and a groupbuy was arranged shortly after. They were tested by some of the folks over there, though I don't presently remember how well they did. I know the prices weren't too bad for an Italian-made...

Extra tweeters to go with my comps and….How?

The problem is that more often than not, it's very difficult to do right and quickly becomes a disaster. In almost EVERY case, it's a crutch for poor install. When you need upstage tweeters, it probably means you should have spent more time playing with the placement of the tweeters you already...

Some thoughts on Oz Audio 180cs

Finally got around to putting these in my car for testing. A lot of install work left to do, so these are just some early thoughts. Power source is an a/d/s P2110, with the gains running very conservative (it was nightfall by the time I got done, and setting gains with low light isn't easy on...
