you are better off going with a decent headunit with an external dsp.  the dayton 408 dsp is really great for the money.  a basic alpine or kenwood headunit paired with a $150 dayton dsp is going to be a much more loaded setup than any headunit you could buy.  

I did not try to warranty them. I read where someone else who had the problem did get theirs replaced by JBL. I wasn't that impressed with them anyway, so I replaced them with something different.

I would not recommend the JBL P660c speakers. If you search around, there have been several people that have had surround failures with these speakers. The surrounds are stiff on the edges of the set I bought and they failed within a few months.

why do you say that? because of the specs? i've used many arc and clarion amps in conjunction with the eclipse 37610 16v balanced adaptor. i have had no problems, nor have the others i know running 4+ volt preouts to them.
