ran arc/clarion amps off of 8 volt eclipse units, 16v balanced line adaptors for eclipse, and plenty of audiocontrol products with well over 4v outputs.

i've had 2 2500cxl's, 1 4150cxl, 3 clarion apx1000.2's, 2 clarion apx401.2's, one clarion apx 401.4, and one clarion apx400.4. i have never had a problem with any of those amps on high volt preouts. if they had problems with high volt preouts, you would think i would have encountered it somewhere along the line.
