    Ground to battery?

I continue to stand by my words. Grounding to the battery may work just fine, but by not grounding directly to the chassis you are just throwing a possible link of failure or problems down the road. Again this electrical 101.

HELP!!! New amp install screwing up my idle!

Sometimes it doesn't take much to cause a vehicle's electrical system to go haywire. A small difference in electrical load can confuse your vehicle's computer. Especially if the factory electrical is getting just a smidgen less voltage than is required. The problem could also be anywhere from a...

    Ground to battery?

I stand by my words. Grounding to the battery relies on the ground of the battery to support the grounding of more electrical than it was designed to handle. It is also NOT the most direct grounding path which is electrical 101 - Make the ground as short and direct as possible. Ground to the...

    Speaker Problems?

Try hooking up your speakers one at a time to each channel of the head unit. If there is a specific HU channel that has a bad ground or a bad speaker wire you can pinpoint it. If the noise seems to fluctuate from chaanel to channel, or speaker to speaker, then you may need try to move the HU...

    frustrating....its frustrating....frustrating

Your factory electrical system is not designed to handle the extra load of the amp draw. A larger/better battery will only increase the amount of reserve power when your vehicle is not running. If you are experiencing starting problems since your install then you your amp is possibly grounding...

    Ground to battery?

Don't ground to the battery itself. You can ground to the same location of the battery given it's a good clean connection. Otherwise make your own chassis ground as close to the install as possible.

    subs to amp

Don't worry about flamin', enjoy what you got. Look up the amp manufacturer on-line for wire diagrams. If not possible, try the negative from one amp output and the positive of the other amp output. This is assuming the sub has a dual voice coil for 2ohm application and the amp can comply with...

    securing the battery

Looks good..... Be innovative and find a non-metallic strap to secure it to the floor with bolts and nuts. Have you consulted the battery manufacturer about ventilation?

    sub suggestion?

I'm not a big fan of Blaupunkt but, they do sell a shallow mount sub for tight spaces. Otherwise, go to an online dealer and read the specs on subs by reputable companies.

    Need Help hooking it up

Take a look at the kit before doing anything. If the kit has instructions and shows what wires you need to tap into, give it a try. Better yet, if it comes with a wiring harness that can be easily spliced in, then deffinately go for it. If the kit looks like it's way over your head, then find a...

Current Draw from my 2 amps?

Research the Amp Specs on the company website or on a dealer's website. There is a formula to determine the amp draw but many companies will exaggerate the potential of the amp leaving you with an incorrect number. Find out the fuse rating of each Amp and add them together.

    wiring a kenwood kvt-m700

Is this the wiring harness that was included with Kenwood or is this a universal fit wiring harness that links your Kenwood to your car? Universal wiring harnesses will supply all of the wiring possibilities for your head unit and vehicle. The extra wires could be as follows: Auxillarly lighting...

    wiring a kenwood kvt-m700

Hard to say without seeing the entire wiring harness in hand. My past experience would tell me that the brown is a speaker wire or possibly an auxillary light power source. If the dark blue wire is solid it is possibly the remote turn on. However, if the wire has a thin white stripe it may be a...
