As I posted in a previous thread.....The fact that your ground cable is securely mounted to your seatbelt torx bolt and the connection is clean, tight and pristine does not mean you have the best gound connection possible. After all you still have to connect the Vehicle's body to the battery...

Run at least 4ga through the firewall and split it off once inside the cabin. The split should be nearest to the most current consuming device on that circuit. Run all grounds to the same place.

If they said they were going to mount the crossovers in the door and said that's why it cost so much.....Go back and *****. Or better yet call'em up and get a quote over the phone w/o the crossovers and see what the price is. If it is any different from what you paid (less) go back and demand...

You should use automotive grade fuses only......not the kind you could find in a house or a shop. The resistances and specifications are different.

I don't think I have ever seen a good price on anything at BestBuy. RED and YELLOW wires connected backwards (assuming there not connected together)

A is good , A+B is Better , A+B+C is Best. It all depends on how much you got to spend. Generally I cover the entire "A" surface, install a small section on surface "B" (just around the speaker mounting location) and would only mess with surface "C" if it had an annoying noise that was coloring...

Wait on the alt...see how your system sounds w/o it. No use spending $375 on something you don't need!! Take a look at the black cable going from your negative battery terminal to your engine block.....Is it smaller than the wire you are installing? If so either replace this wire with a smaller...

Ummmm.... Impedance is most surely NOT CONSTANT!!!!! It changes with frequency!!!! This is why the call it impedance and not resistance.

I have had RCA's go out on me ....One thing to check is if your amplified outputs work...Also, Get a DVM and rig up a harness for an RCA connection and Check for voltage....a good test CD works great for this kind of testing.

12ga will be fine...I did a quick calculation (for fun) and found that your 12ga wire (at 15ft) should have a resistance of .0238Ohms. You should only lose 1.1Watts of power at the NOMINAL impedance with a 180W power source. This does not take into account impedance dips and power levels above...

Order them on-line...bypass fuses at your own risk!!!

It might help......The grounds are very far awayand there might be a difference in potential between grounds (different resistances to the battery terminal). You could also double check both ground points and make sure they are in PRISTINE condition and securely connected.

Yep....sounds like your power wire is shorted....Are you using a cap? If you are make sure to charge it (slowly) first and then connect your power leads. Amp COULD be shorting to ground (even with the car off), however this is doubtful. Disconnect both ends of the power cable and use a DVM to...

Either way you go ....make sure to fuse your remote turn on lead with a SMALL fuse....Something around 1/2 amp....maybe even a 1/4amp. From the sounds of it you'll probably gonna need it, eventually.
