Well, the tinsel lead came off, and I repaired it...but It seems as if something is wrong with the coil...and I can't exactly hook it up because ...get this...a freaking bolt of lightning fried my alt, my amp, and my radio...not to mention half the fuses in my car....I'll probably just ship it...

I have had this sub for about 2 1/2 years, and somewhere along the line one of the voice coil wires disconnected itself. I was running it off a JBL 1200.1. I don't know i f I should ship it back to RE for repair/diagnosis or let a local shop handle it...what do you guys think? Shipping is going...

1.85 or so here, anywhere between 1.60 and 1.90 lately, but gotta love the 2.0 4 banger in the Jetta, 30+ miles to the gallon driving like a bat out of hell. And I don't want to hear anyone ***** about gas..I'm a pizza delivery guy as a second job, 100+ miles a day on that alone

What family 4door are you driving with 251 Naturally aspirated horsepower? much less a turbo version of that engine would easily push over 300.

Well to be perfectly honest, I think it varies from amp to amp, since then I ran a different JBL 1200.1 @ 1ohm and it's been about 7 months w/no problems or overheating issues, but I built ciooling vents and added a fan for extra measure.

So run this by me again...how since the new car has much improved technology, with say...better sealing quieter doors...better suspension, efficiency..etc...It can't possibly be a muscle car? Muscle cars in their day looked similar to other cars on the road w/the difference of slight body mods...

I have just one question, how is it not GTO material if it not only meets, but surpasses every single performance, handling, emissions, and efficiency rating of the former GTO? Granted it may not be the right body style to carry on the traditional image, but for the money..finding a RWD muscle...

JBL isn't 1 ohm stable, it can be run @ that..but it's really not reccomended...granted I've seen them run like that for a few months, but they tend to overheat like hell. and if you wired that alpine w/300 rms value @ 2 ohms..you'd BLOW it up..that's still 1200+ watts @ 2 ohms RMS. Wire it up...
