Just Got In Some New Image Dynamics Sickness! Yeah Baby!

The reason I ask is because I'm in the market for an IDQ as well...I would imagine steel is a better choice as there is no substitute. I think the composite material was some sort of polymer hybrid used on the newer V3's..just trying to get opinions before I purchase. I would also think that the...

Just Got In Some New Image Dynamics Sickness! Yeah Baby!

Anyone have any comments on the plastic-y brace on the v3 vs. the IDQ V.2's? I've read that ID sacrificed quality material for a little more excursion capability. If I'm not mistaken, the V.2's are metal.

    My 2006 GTO build....*56k=death*

I never understood the principle of laying sound deadner/insulator underneath the hood. It may cool the actual hood, but it's re-directing hot air back in to the engine bay and intake which kills power. I know it's great for a quieter ride, but heat is not an engine's friend...

Finished SS and speaker/amp Install! Pics.

My installer fabricated that cover and painted it himself. I was going to leave it exposed, but I haul around some cargo back there not to mention my dogs, so I wanted to make sure it was protected for the time being before I make something more solid. I was gladly surprised at how it came out...

Finished SS and speaker/amp Install! Pics.

I didn't mean to come off sounding like an ass implying that others that didn't take as much time as I did performed a piss poor job..my apologies. I just like doing things right the first time, and after reading a lot of posts about sound deadening on this forum, decided to take it slow. I...

Finished SS and speaker/amp Install! Pics.

Because I did it right? The cleaning of the adhesive took a good 1.5hrs, but applying pressure and getting inside the door skin is quite difficult, especially if you have bigger hands and arms. I'm also a little anal when it comes to things being done right the first time, so that might've...

Finished SS and speaker/amp Install! Pics.

I got it off eBay...I was pretty hesitant purchasing a higher priced item on eBay, but found a great seller with 100% feedback in the thousands.

Finished SS and speaker/amp Install! Pics.

Forgot to add this one..the HU and accessories had already been installed, but the amp and components were new additions. Sounds amazing!! Also, I did not cut myself...just takes common sense and patience to prevent injuries, however my arms and hands got fawked up trying to do yoga manuevers...

Finished SS and speaker/amp Install! Pics.

FINISHED! Before- After- After after- Difference is quite dramatic even without the door panels put back on yet. Took roughly 6.5hrs from start to finish on ONE door which included removal of the adhesive crap/cleaning/vacuuming/etc...what a PITA but worth it. ARC Audio Amp powering...

    arc audio and image dynamics

Most members on here will agree that the installation of the system in general is more important to a point then the equipment you are using. e.g. the best amp/speakers/sub installed poorly will sound worse then a mediocre budget system installed correctly. FWIW, I just purchased an ARC audio...

Technical Questions on Speakers - Quick Response Needed!

Thanks for the quick replies guys. The price difference is close to $300, so I'm a little hesitant on spending that much more for what seems to be a little bit more sound, but again, wanted to make sure I do it right the first time as opposed to re-doing my front soundstage later on.

And yes, my doors have SS applied to them extensively if that makes a huge difference...thanks guys. Also, this is my first upgrade to my system minus my headunit so I want to make sure I get a nice front soundstage to complement my future sub upgrade.
