Anyway, kind of went a little of topic... I've done quite a bit of research, but i haven't found a definitive answer yet, as I haven't picked out a new sub. There are lots of choices out there (DC, TC sounds, SSA, sundown, DD, AQ, etc.) and I'm just looking for the best sub in the $200 range.

same here man, gotta find something else now. very unfortunate. if you dont mind spending an extra $30, look into the HAT imagines, ive heard good reviews.

how about a 12" DC level 3? heard these things hit hard with decent sq, anyone know? DD's are expensive and i dont really wanna go used.

ok so today i went and checked out my friends lude. hes got 2 12's in a sealed box and there is a little bit of trunk left. So, if i were to go ported, my entire trunk would be gone and i dont know if i want that. now i am considereing a few options: -put the type r's in a sealed box? not sure...

so would it still be wise to buy ID products...not from their website, but online dealers? or look at something else?

yes I know the type r's aren't the greatest but they aren't complete crap either. I bought them because I didn't know about any companies besides the mainstream ones. So I bought them. Then I started doing some research and I learn a lot more, a little late but oh well. I can upgrade in a year...

Nah I don't wanna go any less than 1 ohm. I'm just worried about trunk space.

I picked up an audioque 1200d amp and ive got 2 12" type R's (dual 2's) and im wondering whether to run one or both. if i were to run one, it would be wired at 1 ohm somewhere in the 900 watt range (possibly less) and if i were to run both, it would be wired at 2 ohms at about 400 watts each...

well you are going to have a pretty basic system then, if that. you will have to build your own box and find a used sub and amp on the classifieds here. $150 doesnt give you a lot of room for a sub, amp and box.
