That's kind of what I was thinking too. Plus the Rockford 10s are DVC 4ohm, so I can bridge them down to 1ohm. While the JL 12s are only SVC 4ohm.

Oh, I know. We custom build boxes where I work, but I'm not serious enough about my own equipment to invest in the time to design and build my own. Maybe one day when I can afford some Sundown's or Shok's, or something on that level. Until then, it's decent woofers in okay enclosures.

The Rockford 10s are in a Rockford ported box. Came preloaded, so I assume the port is tuned to those specific woofers. The 2x12 box is just a generic Atrend sealed box.

2x10 in ported box vs 2x12 in sealed box.

I'm currently at work. I work at an audio shop, so my manager is going to let me take the 2x12 sealed box home to compare to my 2x10 ported (which is in my closet). I think the 2x10 ported is about 1" larger all the way around. Thing is, I might be selling the JL 12s, so if they're comparable...

Here's the deal, I'm driving halfway across the country in a few weeks, so I need to maximize trunk space while maintaining bass efficiency. I drive a 2001 Mazda 626 sedan. Here are my options with different equipment: Rockford Fosgate T500-1bdCP. Rated for 500w RMS, but birth sheet says 750w...

Subwoofer Amplifier turn on when door opens.

What kind of vehicle? Sounds like you've tapped into your dome supervision circuit, or your door trigger circuit, both which may have a delay timer on them.

    Speakers and Sub stopped working

Did you wire your sub parallel, down to 1 ohm? I believe that amp is 1 ohm stable. Also, make sure it isn't out of phase.

    Setting up 4 channel settings

Have you properly adjusted the gain on each channel, and on the sub amp?

    Help with box problem

First of all that amplifier is severely under powered for that woofer. Even if you wire that woofer in parallel you're only getting it down to 85w, and that woofer is rated for 350w RMS. Which is probably why it sounds so bad. Get a better amp and try again.

    Connector contact Identification

You're looking for connector pins. Not sure which size though.

    Amp meter shunt?

I would measure current flow and resistance across it first, but I don't see why not.

    Speakers and Sub stopped working

Checked all your grounds and RCAs? Also, what do you mean by you ruined the sound coming from your speakers/sub?

    Chevy? Year and model?

2 diamond amps main power wire

Yeah I would go with 4 gauge for anything above 500w rms.
