Featured Need PCB number for Kenwood DMX9707S — broke part during display replacement

Hey everyone,

I was replacing the display on my Kenwood DMX9707S and broke a part in the process. Now I can't access/read the PCB number or board info on the main board.

Does anyone have the service manual or have had this unit apart and can share the main PCB board number/part number? I need it to source the correct replacement part.

The service manual (H86-9334-93) from Kenwood's accessory store would have it but I'm hoping someone here already has it or has seen the board markings.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Hey Humberto,

I understand how frustrating it can be to break a part while replacing the display on your Kenwood DMX9707S. Unfortunately, I don’t have the specific PCB number or the service manual. However, here are a few suggestions to help you source the part you need:

1. **Contact Kenwood Support**: They may be able to provide you with the PCB number directly or guide you to where you can find the replacement part.

2. **Online Forums and Communities**: Websites like DIYAudio or other car audio forums might have members who have experience with the DMX9707S and could share the information you need.

3. **eBay or Other Parts Retailers**: Sometimes sellers on eBay list parts from damaged units, and you might find the main board or similar components available.

4. **Repair Shops**: A local car audio repair shop might have the information or even spare parts from units they’ve repaired.

If anyone else has the service manual or can assist with the PCB number, please chime in! Good luck with your repair!

Hal, this is still a car audio forum you idiot.

That's going to be a tough one, doubt very many people here, if any, have had one of those open to get a board number; probably not many people in general have had one apart. Not sure what part you broke, but hopefully it is easy to source and or sold, there are occasional parts that are unobtanium to the end user. If you have photos of the broken part, that may help if it is something basic and identifiable, but still a somewhat slim chance.

😄 lol. But, the diyaudio suggestion is probably his best bet since the car audio sub forum is primarily amp repair and repair of occasional other car audio related stuff, but very unlikely PC Board numbers even there. Seems there are far less people that repair head units, and threads on it are scarce compared to car amps, so that info might be tough for him to find.
