Need some suggestions

I’m working on upgrading my 2024 Silverado crew cab (non-Bose) on a tight budget — gotta keep “the wife” happy.

Here’s what I’ve got so far:

• I’m keeping the stock head unit.
• The head unit will feed a LC2i, which will then go into a PRV DSP2.8.
• The DSP will feed a Focal FPX 5.1200 amp.
• The Focal will power JBL GTO939 6×9s in the front doors and JBL GTO609C 6.5s in the rear.

Everything up to this point should work pretty well.

Here’s where I’m running into a question:
I’ve got two Rockford Fosgate P2D4 12” subs. They can be wired for either 1Ω or 4Ω, but the Focal FPX sub channel is rated for 420 W @ 4Ω or 720 W @ 2Ω.

• Wired at 4Ω, I’m not sure the amp will push them enough to really enjoy the bass.
• Wired at 1Ω, the amp won’t support it at all.

So my options as I see them:

1. Wire them at 4Ω and see how it sounds.
2. Tie in one voice coil per sub to present a 2Ω load and see how that works and sounds.
3. Buy different subs that can be wired to 2Ω.
4. Or get a separate amp just for the subs.

There’s no “right” answer here — I’m just looking for some insight. I already have all the gear listed above, so I’m trying to make it all work together as best as possible.

I’m on a real budget and only have about $200 to spend.

What would you all do?

Try the suds at 4 ohms. If that isn't good enough, the get different subs.

Wire it up at 4 ohms. I think you'll be surprised with how much bass you will get. To be honest, I would use one sub in a ported enclosure and run it at 2 ohms. You will get a lot more bass out of it than 2 subs in a sealed box.

The first issue here would be space. Each sub requires 1.02 cubic feet sealed and 1.79 ported. So you can do 1 in ported or both in sealed. The dual sub box alone will run you $200+. Best bet is single ported for under $200.

I apologize, I did not mention that I already have a dual 12” sealed box made by Ground shaker @.92 cu ft for each sub. It’s far from the best box, but it’s all I have access to at the moment.
I’m gonna try this setup, since I’ve already got it, and if it don’t work out, I think my best bet would be to go down to a single ported setup… I see that it’s been mentioned a few times..
I’ll be installing this system in about a week, so I’ll keep everyone updated.
