2025 Toyota Sequoia – Wireless CarPlay Connection Error with My Phone Only

I recently bought a 2025 Toyota Sequoia and can’t get Wireless CarPlay to connect with my iPhone.

Here’s what’s happening:

•I get a “connection error” every time I try to use Wireless CarPlay.
  • CarPlay works if I plug in with a data cable.
  • My wife’s iPhone connects wirelessly to the Sequoia with no problem.
  • My iPhone works fine with Wireless CarPlay in other vehicles.
  • Bluetooth connects for phone calls and media—just not CarPlay.
  • I’ve tried “forget device” on both my phone and the Sequoia, reset network settings, and restarted everything.
  • Toyota service couldn’t figure it out.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Could this be a software/firmware issue with my phone or the Sequoia’s head unit?

If you want, I can also tweak this for a more technical crowd so it encourages people to suggest troubleshooting steps rather than general advice. Would you like me to make that version?

Sounds like a software/firmware issue. Try reloading or get the dealer to do it. OR, use the cable. I have an aftermarket unit that requires a cable. I ran the cable to the phone holder, and it's available when and if I need it, which is zero percent of the time. If I'm not using Sirius radio, I'm using my USB hard drive. Good luck.
