Have 2 JL W6v3 and wondering what to use for them...

Was wondering if it's better to have 2 separate amps or 1 JL Rd1500
Also Helix, Mosconi,
or JL or Rockford Fosgate with a Helix DSP..
I used to have them powered with a RF Prime 1.1200 but they were underpowered IMO
Any insight would be great or any other amp brand you recommend as well. Thanks

Any amp with an RMS of the combined subs will do. If you can acquire the RD1500 I would opt for that. If 1200 watts was not enough then something was wrong with the setup. An 800w single sub setup should get really rowdy. I currently have a 10" DD 3500 with ~500w and it rattles my mirrors.
Are you using a JL box or one built to specs?

From my experience with JL Audio Subs, they always sounded better when using their same amps. I've pushed them with RF, MTX, Kicker, Xtant, McIntosh, Arc Audio, etc... I have about 10 years of experience with JL. JL subs always sounded better with JL amps.

The Rockford fosgate 1200 doesn't actually push 1200 watts its only like 80 percent efficient at most at 1 ohm so it pushes like 1000 watts to the 2 w6's

Now, I'm not a RF fan boy. I don't even have any RF gear. After saying that, I haven't seen a RF amp that didn't meet its rated power. In fact, all the ones I have seen exceeded their power by quite a bit. Williston Audio Labs tested this amp, and it put out almost 1400 watts at 1 ohm.

I'm not RF guy either, but they do make good amps.

I really have nothing bad to say about them. Even their cheap RF series amps, from the late 90's, met or exceeded their ratings. Except for a couple designs, they have all been really good-looking amps. I guess if I were to say something bad about them, it would be their price. Then again, they are very durable and powerful, so you get what you pay for.
