Looking to stick with a single Zcon 12.

So first time making a Slotted Enclosure.

The inner dimensions are:
12” X26” X 22”.

The Slot Port is 12”X 40” with a
5” Gap.

33HZ.
3.24 (after displacement).
(Includes port and Sub displacement).

I’m looking for advice on the width of the slot?

Looking for SPL and SQL.

Please provide more details or specific questions about your slotted enclosure, SPL, or SQL.

12" x 26" x 22".

Slot 5” gap 12” X40”.

33HZ.

3.22 cubes including sub and port displacement.

12"x40" port? ain't no way you mean 12 by 40 lol
you mean 12x5" by 40" long I think. Which is still weird because the height should be taller than the sub.
3.24 cu ft after displacement is way too high for a 12.
These numbers are off, where did you get them?

I’ll just post a video of it throwing some SPl on YouTube.

I have a slot calculator so I know it’s 33 HZ!

Funny how no one focuses on the question.. just everything else until I explain it to their ego.

Everyone haha please believe my basic enclosure is the right numbers! Please

Yeah retard, it's my ego that makes me question a 12x40" port 😂

why tf are you even talking to us? you have the slot calculator!

How come when I explain the same to ChatGPT it can understand my question?

I literally posted this thread here’s the answer I was looking for:

Recommendations:

✅ For More SPL: Increase port width slightly (~6” to 6.5”) to reach 70-75 in².
✅ For Balanced SQL/SPL: Keep the 5” width (60 in²) or slightly decrease to 4.5” (54 in²) for cleaner sound.
✅ Check Port Velocity: If you notice excessive port noise (chuffing), a wider port or flaring the edges can help.

Can’t wait till AI generates beyond every retard!

So they can’t waste our time!

So how many square inches of port area "gap" are you going with? how does the port velocity look?

ChatGTP is not something you should use for designing a box. In order to find the optimal response curve for a subwoofer in a particular box you need to run it thru a program like WinISD. A help chat AI will not be able to run the complex calculations to do this.

The numbers that it gave you for the port measurements are completely off. No 12 inch subwoofer needs 54 square inches of port area. Especially in a box that large. It's going to sound super muddy and only get sound decentish if you are only playing music that is around the tuning frequency.
Like someone else said, Shredder is a long time member here and has built many boxes and designed even more. Hit him up
