Been out of the game a little while and wondering what to do about a head unit.

I have a 16 Altima that I'm going to toss a substage in and it's already wired with an 8 guage kit using the factory radio but I'm looking at replacing the wiring with 0 gauge and possibly using an older JVC double din h/u that I have laying around. I'm just not sure if that's a way outdated way of doing things and I don't want to lose my steering wheel controls or my bluetooth. I'm in car sales and years back we saw tons of cars with aftermarket radios but lately it's almost non existent so I'm not very up to date with what's the best way to go. What do yall think? Go eith the JVC and buy a 200 dollar wiring harness to keep my controls and use the preouts instead of the current line output converter? Or use a more modern display with maybe a DSP? Afaik screens dont have preouts, right? I'll probably run upgraded door speakers off the head unit and maybe 1k rms on a single 12 or 2 10s.

I would go with the JVC deck and a steering wheel adaptor. Or, go with another brand that has all those features, Like a Pioneer. However, you will still need the steering wheel adaptor.

So a newer head unit will function seamlessly with my factory Bluetooth controls? I got out of electrical years ago and started building and shipping boxes exclusively so I haven't wired anything but a LOC since the Pineeer 880prs came out.

I have an Android screen and I still have all my factory functions without any adapters plus digital out for my dsp. You'll need an amp for your speakers. Your deck power wont keep up with a 1000w substage at all.

I advise you to go to: crutchfield.com to do research on your specific vehicle. They have a database that is unmatched in the car audio industry. There, you will easily learn what works in your vehicle. The 0ga. is overkill. You will need to price-shop to stay within your budget. Also, watch out for those high-powered low efficiency sub amps bcuz they will not perform as expected without a big 3 upgrade. If you want to keep your steering wheel controls, go with a line output converter, namely and specifically: Audio Control LC2i Pro. It comes with the remote bass control.
